The Public Health Services Gelderland-Midden (part of the bigger VGGM organization) deals mainly with preventive medicine on a local level, in the province of Gelderland, the Netherlands. Main tasks are in the field of youth health care, infectious diseases, environmental medicine, and ambulance services. The Department of Environmental Medicine deals with a wide range of environmental problems, a.o. heat stress. The department provides background expertise and serves as an advisory body to the local or provincial councils.
