University of Thessaly, Greece

The University of Thessaly (UTH; Greek: Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλίας) is a university in Thessaly, Greece, founded in 1984. The university is based in Volos and also operates campuses in Larissa, Trikala, Karditsa and Lamia. The university comprises of six schools: Humanities, social Sciences, Engineering, Agricultural Sciences, Health Sciences, Sport Sciences, and Sciences.

Dr Andreas Flouris who is the key player of the University of Thessaly in this project is an environmental physiologist and the founder of FAME Lab. He is an Assistant Professor in Human Physiology at the University of Thessaly and an Adjunct Professor in Environmental Medicine at the University of Ottawa.

UTH is participating in the HEAT-SHIELD project with the School of Sport Science. It is the Lead Beneficiary of WP2 where the health and productivity consequences of current and future climatic scenarios will be assessed. Furthermore, it will participate in WP3 – WP8.
