Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research, Netherlands

TNO stands for the Netherlands Organisation of Applied Scientific Research. At this moment TNO employs about 2300 scientists in a wide variety of fields. For global warming, the expertise of several groups is combined: labor studies, geography and thermal physiology.

TNO participated in a big national project (2007-2014) regarding the effects of climate change (Knowledge for Climate – http://www.knowledgeforclimate.nl/) in which knowledge was developed that will be applied in the HEAT SHIELD project.

Key players in the project are Peter Bosch (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Peter_Bosch3) and Hein Daanen (http://members.ziggo.nl/daanen).
